HURREM
SULTAN HAMAM,
located between the St. SOPHIA and the BLUE MOSQUE in the Old Town, designed
and built by the Imperial Ottoman Architect, SINAN, in the 16th Century. In has
undergone a modern restoration from 2008 to 2011, with an investment of 8.5
million US $. The height of the cold room dome is 26 meters, with 1300 square
meters of the famous Marmara marble used. The warm room temperature reaches 38
degrees Celcius. Guests are welcomed into the “Hamam”s main section, starting
with the world famous Turkish Bath massage by experience “Tellaks” (bath
masters) when all knotted stress muscles are relaxed afterwards on the “heated
marble sweat stone”.
